Born in Kings Cross, Sydney, Australia.
Kings Cross Track Club was formed in 2015 by a couple of brothers who were unable to find an existing running club that spoke to them. Disillusioned with the traditional running club, the moustachioed old dudes, the elitists, the #cleanliving #fitspo hashtaggers, the rip-off artists, and the just-plain-fuckwits, we decided to start our own club.
All runs start from the Coke sign:
EVERY Tues 7pm (7-8km)
EVERY Thurs 6:45am (7-8km)
SOME Sundays 8am (long)
Calling all speedsters, cruisers, lopers and dopers.
We just like to run: on streets, footpaths, tracks, grass, trails, dirt, sand, (but never on a treadmill); up hills, down hills, around obstacles, despite the hangover, through sprinklers, from the cops, between the bushes, under fences, over fences, with your mates, in, out, up, down, rinse, repeat, ad infinitum. We run because it makes us feel good.
We started KXTC because we wanted a crew to run with. We want runners of all levels, chicks and dudes, to be able to experience the motivation and mateship of a club of like-minded people, whether you just want to keep fit, you're bored of running alone, or you want to step it up for an upcoming race. Let's do this.
Starting from the Kings Cross Coke sign, regular runs will see us venturing to the best parts of this fine hood - Rushcutters Bay, Centennial Park, the Botanic Gardens, the Opera House, the Harbour Bridge, Rose Bay, Walsh Bay; and when you've levelled up, beyond, to faraway lands like Bondi, Coogee, Clovelly, Maroubra, and over the Harbour and Anzac Bridges.
